Aim for the Top!
Been a busy summer, working to get my artsy process leaner and quicker. If you haven’t been following 3/2, my ‘Graphic Review’ series, [+/-] seems to be gaining steam and gathering a lot more feedback than my last webcomic. It’s really been kind of invigorating and makes me want to try some of my other series out and see how they’re taken. So I’ve been working on a lot of illustration, not just for here and dA, but a couple book covers, and hopefully more down the line since the drawing bug seems to have bitten hard. I had a pretty nasty case of burnout toward the end of Revolver, but I was too close to the end to not see it through. I have ideas for the [+/-] duo outside yammering about video games, as well as for some new and… ‘new’ stories and characters.
Depicted is just a little sample of my plastic vice- lately I’ve been adoring the designs behind Kotobukiya’s D-Style model kit line. Not only are they surprisingly detailed for being “cutesy” versions of towering animated death machines, but they usually have some functionality to make them even more show-accurate (say, transformation gimmicks, alternate modes, spare weapons, etc.) If you’re a fan of plastic mecha kits, definitely try one out.
